New Beginnings, but first, a Farewell

But there is and our Make-A-Wish of Michigan Fairy Godmother, Susan Lerch , with wand in hand, is off to make more magic for Michigan children with Autism and their families.

During Susan’s more than 13 years with Make-A-Wish, she has grown the Foundation from a handful of dedicated staff to a staff that grants any wish a child’s imagination can conceive.

Susan recalls a wish of a Michigan child’s return to Cambodia to visit his grandmother. And she recalls the wishes for two precious little girls who only wanted to be princesses for a day. As two communities came out by the thousands to bow to these inspiring little girls adorned in their gowns and tiaras, we were all reminded of the simplest pleasures and what an honor it is to know these amazing children.

With thousands of wishes come true and lives forever changed, we say farewell and heartfelt thanks to Susan, but never goodbye. A forever Fairy Godmother and forever a friend.

Yes, there is a farewell but with that, new beginnings for the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Michigan. Our Fairy Godmother blog will become a Wish Connection of voices and inspiration. You’ll hear from our volunteers, our wish children, our staff and our supporters. We hope you will be inspired and come to us for warmth and a feeling of home.

Our children have amazing stories and heartfelt needs. Together, we will continue to meet those needs and exceed every dream they can imagine.

With warmth,

The Make-A-Wish staff

What do you think?

Hi Lisa,
Susan’s last day with the Foundation was on Jan 29 but I did go ahead and forward on your message to her.
Take care,
Matt
